Rachel Rysanek
Artistic Staff

As a graduate of DPU, Rachel has trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, and, of course, her favorite – tap! It’s been her passion since she started dancing at five years old. She proudly won Senior Dupree National Champion for her tap solo in 2016!

She began teaching at DPU in 2016 and also has been teaching tap classes for all ages at COCA since 2017. Rachel loves to attend master classes where she can broaden her skills in all types of dance and use them in her teaching.

Rachel graduated from Fox High School with her Associate of Arts degree in 2017. She is currently seeking Biology and Clinical Laboratory Science degrees at Maryville University with a minor in Spanish. Rachel is excited to continue teaching at DPU!

Classes

INT Teen Tap

A technique based class that focuses on using sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. This class will expand on a Dancer’s musicality with an emphasis on rhythm and timing. Dancers will learn Tap skills and how to integrate sounds with that of the music.

Tap Technique

A technique based class focusing on skills performed in Tap dances. Dancers will learn basic steps that are incorporated into Tap routines and the musicality, timing and precision that is required for their performance of the style.

Jr. INT Tap

Twinkling Stars I

A 60 minute combination class teaching Tap, Jazz and Ballet fundamentals. This class will introduce basic tumbling. This class focuses on basic technique, rhythm and creative movement. Twinkling Stars I accommodates dancers 3-4 years of age. Twinkling Stars II accommodates dancers 4-5 years of age.
