Deanna Rick
Artistic Staff

Deanna Rick began dancing at DPU at the age of 4. There she began her competitive journey under the choreography of Ray Leaper and Tina Caspary. At 14, she toured with DPU as a U.S. Dance Ambassador throughout Russia. And at 16, trained at Edge and Tremaine in L.A. Throughout the years, Deanna worked her way to the DPU Elite Team and competed at top competitions throughout the country.

In High School, Deanna also began a dance team career. Winning the title of UDA All-American all 3 years, and in 1996, won the title of ‘Showstopper of the Year’ at Showstopper Camps of America. That year she also performed with EuroDisney in Paris.

After graduating, Deanna continued her dance passion as a Universal Dance Association instructor and began her studies at Webster University. That year, she also joined the St. Louis Rams Cheerleaders. This was definitely a highlight as she combined her love for performance with public appearance and charity work. Deanna ultimately changed majors from a BFA in Dance to Media Communications/Business with a dance minor, however trained in Level 4 Ballet and Jazz all 3 years.

Another performance highlight was booking with Jordache Jeans, Inc. in 2001 for a National AD Campaign. The campaign included MTV and E Network Commercials (dancers); and Wal-Mart Stores print campaigns (clothing tags and banners). In addition to performing, Deanna also choreographed for High School Dance Teams throughout her college years.

Currently, Deanna is married (Todd) with 3 children (Gage, Siena and Ella), and works for Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals as a Cardiology Therapeutic Specialist. She enjoys life as a “Dance Mom” and is unbelievably honored to remain is the dance world as an instructor at DPU- her 2 nd home.
