Leah Korn
Artistic Staff

Leah Korn was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Point Park University before returning to her home city to train as an apprentice for Common Thread Contemporary Dance Company under the direction of Jennifer Medina. She has received her BFA with a dual emphasis in modern and ballet from the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ms. Korn danced as a company member for Seamless Dance Theater, under the direction of Erin Lustig following her graduation.

Her choreography has been featured at the Kansas City Art Institute Symposium, American College Dance Festival and her most recent accomplishment includes a full length show collaborated with KC artist Alexandra Wallace in 2017, “Beneath the Skin”.

Ms. Korn has a deep love for teaching. Emphasizing the importance of technique, she encourages her students to find their own creative voice in everything they do.


Jr. Open Technique

A class based in jazz fundamentals focusing on basic body alignment and terminology. Dancers will learn correct body placement, gain body awareness and body control. This class aids to dancer’s abilities to execute skills learned in their jazz classes. This class accommodates dancers ages 8-12 years of age in beginner/intermediate levels.

A technique based class focusing on kicks, jumps and turns. Dancers will learn different varieties of each of the skills and the proper technique to execute them.

Open Level Ballet

A technique based class that focuses on body placement and alignment while integrating grace, elegance and poise. Dancers will learn formal Ballet terminology, barre work and combinations in center.

A type of ballet in which dancers use pointe shoes to balance on the tips of their toes. Dancers will learn the fundamentals of ballet using their pointe shoes and build the strength needed to hold positions en pointe.
